# Observe Client - EOL

FileWave removed the Observe Client feature from the computer client in FileWave 14.8.0. TeamViewer replaced it for remote-control sessions.

TeamViewer provides the current cross-platform remote-control workflow for FileWave-managed devices.

Q: How does this impact older clients?  
A: After the FileWave Server is upgraded to 14.8 or later, Observe Client is no longer available, regardless of client version.

Q: How does this impact Client Preferences?  
A: The admin console and Superprefs Editor no longer provide VNC port options. The Privacy Preferences for 'Managed Remote Control' and 'Prompt client for remote control access' are still used by TeamViewer.

<p class="callout success">Remove Superpref Filesets that only define VNC ports; those settings no longer have any effect.</p>
