# TeamViewer: Assigning Licenses

## **What**

TeamViewer access in FileWave depends on the administrator's FileWave permissions and on the TeamViewer licenses available in your account. This article shows where to assign those licenses.

## **When/Why**

A TeamViewer license is assigned to a FileWave administrator or technician, not to a managed device or end user. Each license can be assigned to one FileWave admin at a time and can only be changed once every 6 months, so review assignments before saving them.

## **How**

To assign a TeamViewer license to an admin, open **Native Administrator → Assistants → Manage Administrators**, then select the **TeamViewer** tab.

If licenses are available, click the plus sign and add administrators by login name or SMTP address. Login names must match exactly, including case. In the example above, **TonyK** is valid, but **tonyk** would not match. Generic accounts can use TeamViewer in only one FileWave session at a time.

You can confirm the username from **Assistant → Administrators Online**. **Usernames** is one of the columns shown for each signed-in administrator.
