What is the Early Access Program?
The articles in the FileWave Early Access Program pertain to FileWave releases that have successfully passed our internal Quality Assurance (QA) process but have not yet been made available as a general release to all customers. They are published here to provide you with early access to important updates and features. Once a release becomes generally available, these articles will be moved to their standard locations in the Knowledge Base (KB), and normal release notifications will be distributed.
Fully Supported Builds & Early Access Benefits
All builds referenced here are fully supported by FileWave. Early Access releases are ideal for customers who wish to deploy and test updates in sandbox or non-production environments ahead of the wider rollout.
-
Minimal risk: As an Early Access participant, you benefit from enhanced support responsiveness. Should you encounter an issue, the development team can provide direct and timely assistance, in contrast to situations that might arise if a problem is discovered only after broad release to hundreds of customers.
-
Proactive problem resolution: Early Access also allows us to collaborate with you on any issues that arise, ensuring higher reliability and smoother deployment for all customers at general release.
-
Targeted support use-case: Occasionally, Customer Technical Support may direct you to install one of these builds if it addresses a specific support case.
Hosted Customers
If you are a Hosted Customer and would like your server upgraded in the Early Access program with each release just open a Technical Support case and ask to be added.
Building Custom Clients During Early Access
During the Early Access period, you can use the following links to build custom clients:
-
macOS: https://custom.filewave.com/py/beta-program/custom_client_mac.py
-
Windows: https://custom.filewave.com/py/beta-program/custom_client_win.py
Note: Custom client builds may not be available immediately for every version during the Early Access window. Please ignore any unsupported status messages shown by the beta build system; these builds are fully supported for Early Access testing.
