Mass import devices/devices or inventory data from a CSV or TXT file

When/Why

  3. In Map Fields,Fields, match the fieldscolumns youfrom wantyour to importfile to FileWave fieldsfields.

How

To import a file, we will:file:

  • Create a CSV/CSV or TXT file with a header row,row followed by aone row for each devicedevice.

The datacolumns can be in pretty much any order, but ita placeholder import must include at minimumleast a device name,name and an OS Type. When updating existing devices, include a reliable matching field such as serial number.

  • Browse for the file with the Browse Buttonbutton (Z4bjEkBnOiEWDMjZ-embedded-image-rpwuunlf.pngBrowse button).
  • Preview your upload and continue to the Map Fields .

Connect CSV columns with FileWave inventory fields

HereMap Fields is where you match upeach theuploaded columnscolumn heading with existingthe correct FileWave Inventoryinventory Fields.field.

From

    Open the Actions Tab
      From thefield dropdown for a column. PickChoose the appropriate FileWave inventory field that matches yourthe column headheading. Continue ontoto the Actions tab nexttab.
