Creating Windows Driver Filesets

This recipe is to walk youwalks through the simple process of finding Windows OSdriver driverspacks and uploading them into FileWave.FileWave Windows drivers are used in ourfor Network Imaging process.Imaging.

You can only assign a driver Fileset only after an image association has been made.

  • Internet Connectionconnection
  • An unarchiving tooltool, (likesuch as 7-zip)Zip

Directions

  1. Find yourthe driver packspack from the manufacture.manufacturer. You willusually need tothe finedriver package that contains the .CAB or .INIINF files. In the screenshot belowbelow, Ia simplyGoogle googlesearch searchedfor "Dell Latitude E6410 driver pack" andleads to a Dell driver pack download where the second result find me the back below where I downloaded the .CAB file can be downloaded.

  2. OnceAfter you havedownload locatedthe driver pack, extract it. Right-click the .CAB file and downloadeduse your driver pack it is time7-Zip to extract it. Right click on the .CAB file and have 7-zip extract the filefiles.

  3. After After the drivers are extractedare you can nowextracted, upload the whole driversdriver folder into FileWave.

  4. Log into in to FileWave AdminCentral, go to the Filesets section,, and select the New Image Fileset option. atIn the top. You will be prompted with the Create New Fileset window withwindow, threechoose option, select Windows Drivers.

  5. Now simply findSelect the extracted folder from the .CAB file and bringimport it into FileWave. The Windows driver filesetFileset will be visibleappears in the both the Fileset  and the Imaging section. sections. It will remainremains red until it has completed the import into FileWave.finishes.

  6. When the filesetFileset hasturns turnedblack, black you can now associatedassociate the drivers in the the Imaging section. TheseFileWave sends these drivers will be sent out to yourthe device(s)device during the network imaging process.

  7. OnceIn inthe the Imaging section section, find yourthe device,device or device group of devices, onin the left pane.pane Findand yourfind driversthe ondriver Fileset in the right pane. Simply clickdrag,Click, and drag, and drop the driversdriver onFileset toponto ofthe your device,device or group of devices.group.

    The drivers will be deployed alongdeploy with anthe image that you haveis already assigned to the device(s)
