Cisco Secure Client Installation (macOS)

Ingredients

• FW Admin

• Cisco Secure Client created dmgDMG file

• TCC profile for kernel / kernel/system extension
• Install CiscoSecureClient.fileset.zip
• Profile - Approved Cisco Secure Client System and Kernel Extensions.fileset.zip

Directions

1. Download and import the two files into FileWave and create a Fileset Group labeled Cisco Secure Client Install or similar

    

2. Open the Fileset Install CiscoSecureClient to view theits contents;contents. You should see three items:items -  the .dmg placeholder and two scripts.

    

   
   

3. Proceed through the Cisco process of creating your csc CSC-readable dmgDMG file. The one in the template Fileset is an example and does not contain your xmlXML profile configurations. Please refer to below Related Content forbelow theto creation ofcreate your Cisco csc CSC-readable dmgDMG file.
   
   

4. After the completion of the csc CSC-readable dmg,DMG, replace the one in the Fileset with yours
   
   

5. Open the install cscCSC script to modify the proper names of both the updated csc CSC-readable dmg (it could be named differently)DMG and the Cisco Secure Client version number PKG installer.installer to match what you have. If there are spaces be sure tospaces, use the correct syntax,syntax (i.e., Cisco\ Secure\ Client.pkg.pkg).
   
   The script will attach the dmgDMG to the volume of the machine, locate the pkgPKG installer (be sure to properly name the path of the Cisco Secure Client installer and version)installer, and extract it to the /root directory (you are welcome to change to change to a different directory, if desired). Then the script will sleep for 60 seconds to allow installation of the client,client finallyand detach the dmgDMG from the machine.

    

   
   

    

6. Modify the check_profile script and its launch argument to ensure it matches the profile bundle ID. Double Double-click to open the Profile and copy the bundle ID.
    

    

    

7. Save the contents and the assign the Fileset group with both Fileset and profile to a few test devices. The Fileset Group will deploy both profile and FilesetFileset, and once the profile has been installedinstalled, the Fileset with your Cisco Secure Client will be installed.
   
   
   

Notes

Be sure to test with a few devices before mass mass-deploying to your production devices. ItsIt's always a good habit ofto testingtest on a few devices to confirm the proper installation and configuration of the Cisco Secure Client has been installed properly.Client.
