Microsoft Office Deployment (macOS)

What

Use FileWave to deploy Microsoft Office for Mac to managed macOS devices. FileWave handles the distribution side: you can deliver the Microsoft installer package, required configuration, and any related settings to the right device groups instead of installing Office by hand on each Mac.

When/Why

This is the normal path when a lab, classroom, shared fleet, or staff Mac group needs Office installed consistently. It also gives you a repeatable way to roll out updates, settings, or replacement packages later without rebuilding the workflow from scratch.

How

1. Review Microsoft's current Deployment guide for Office for Mac for the supported Office package, activation, update, and preference options.
2. Create the needed FileWave Fileset or Filesets for the Office installer package and any supporting configuration.
3. Assign the Fileset to a small macOS test group first, confirm Office installs and activates as expected, then expand the deployment to the broader device group.
