Control Which Apps Appear in Kiosk (15.3+)

FileWave Kiosk shows apps and other content assigned for self-service installation. A standard app assignment does not make the app appear in Kiosk, even when Allow removal is enabled.

What

Behavior

Beforein FileWave 15.3,3 appsand later

• An app with a Kiosk assignment appears as self-service content.
• An app with only a standard assignment does not appear in Kiosk.
• If a user removes a standard assigned app, Fileset Verify can reinstall it while the assignment remains active. Kiosk does not need to list that areapp.
• Removing directlythe deployedKiosk assignment removes the item from self-service after the model update reaches the device.

If an app is missing from Kiosk

1. Confirm that the app has a Kiosk assignment to the intended device or group.
2. Confirm that the assignment or Deployment is active.
3. For Apple Apps and haveBooks content, confirm that the “Allowcorrect removal”token optionhas checkedavailable arelicenses.
4. Update shownthe model and allow the device to check in Kiosk. If the user decides to remove them from their device, that app is shown in Kiosk—in case the user changes their mind and wantsrefresh to have them on their device again. 

   When/Why

   This was done before when there wasn’t Verify. Now, with Verify, this process is automated (the app will be installed again after Verify), so there is no sense in showing those apps in the Kiosk anymore.

   How

   In FileWave 15.3+, the Kiosk shows an item in the app list only if it is Kiosk-associated with the device. Non-kiosk-associated items do not appear on the list. This is more straightforward behavior, but it may be confusing for someone who was used to seeing apps in the Kiosk before that are now not showing.
