Re-enroll an Imaging Virtual Server (IVS)

What this procedure does

YouRe-enrolling mayan needImaging toVirtual removeServer and(IVS) re-enrollrequires more than deleting its FileWave Central record. Remove the IVS toClient troubleshoot. Instead of straightforward deletingconfiguration and enrolling the IVS again,Admin youpreferences will need to remove the client and admin IVS configurations, before removing. Once these configurations have been deleted youfirst, then may remove the IVS from FileWave AdminCentral, Central.restart it, and enroll it again.

When/WhyWhen to use it

WhenUse this reset when an IVS no longer connects or images after routine connectivity and service checks. The procedure deletes local IVS configuration, so record the IVScurrent losesserver connectionaddress orand stopsenrollment imaging,details troubleshootingbefore maystarting.

HowIVS

  1. Remove the IVS Client configuration
    1. logConnect intoto yourthe IVS byover sshSSH intoand run the serverfollowing and execute the commands below:commands:

      $ sudo killall fwcld
      $ rm -rf /etc/xdg/FileWave/Client.conf

  2. Remove the IVS Admin configurationpreferences
    1. OpenIn a webbrowser, browseropen and navigate to yourthe IVS adminAdmin address,address i.e.at https://<IVS.IP.IVS-IP-address>:20444

    2. ClickSelect 'Sign in'in and enter the usernameIVS andadministrator passwordcredentials. An appliance that still has its initial credentials uses:

      username: fwadmin
      password: filewave

    3. OnceOpen logged in, click Admin at> Preferences. Select the top,checkbox Preferencesbeside > Check the boxPreference to the left of Preference to check all boxes > Click the drop-down to the right of Action and select "every row, then choose Delete selected Preferences".Preferences from the Action menu.

    4. ClickSelect onGo, 'Go' andthen confirm bywith clickingYes. 'Yes'Verify to remove. After completedthat the steps,page youreports should see 0 Preferences.Preferences.

  3. Remove the IVS from FileWave Admin Central
    1. OpenIn FileWave AdminCentral, Centralopen and navigate to Preferences > Imaging. tabSelect >the clickIVS, your IVS to highlight it > Clickselect the minus sign to the bottom leftbutton, and thenchoose hitOK. OKReopen to close preferences. Re-open Preferences > Imaging tab and makeconfirm surethat yourthe IVS hasn'tdoes reappeared.not reappear.IVSadminconfig4
  4. Restart the IVS. In the SSH intosession, your IVS and run the command to reboot:run:

    $ sudo shutdown -r now

  5. OnceEnroll the IVS hasagain. restarted,After youit mayrestarts, begin the enrollment process normally;follow Setting up the IVS (Imaging Virtual Server).
