FileWave Dashboard Overview
What the Dashboard shows
The FileWave Dashboard turns server, client, and deployment data into summary views that are easier to monitor than individual records. Use it for environment health, deployment progress, operational trends, and high-level reporting.
When to use it
Use a dashboard when a recurring question is best answered visually: whether a deployment is progressing, which conditions need attention, or how an environment changes over time. Dashboards can also provide a concise status view for service owners and leadership without requiring them to navigate individual device records. Dashboard data is a summary; investigate the underlying FileWave records before acting on an unexpected result.
How it works
FileWave Dashboard content is built with Grafana for visualization and Prometheus for monitoring data. Start with Access the FileWave Dashboard to confirm administrator permissions, then use the articles in this book for data sources, panels, variables, and plugin configuration. The upstream projects provide additional reference material:
- Grafana documentation: https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/
- Prometheus documentation: https://prometheus.io/docs/
