Fileset Groups

Fileset Groups organize related Filesets and let you assign the group to a client or Client Group in one workflow. In FileWave Central, open Filesets and create one with New Fileset Group, then drag existing Filesets into it. You can nest Fileset Groups to match your deployment structure. A Fileset or Fileset Group can belong to only one parent group because these items cannot be cloned. Moving an item changes where it is organized; it does not create a second copy.

Check assignments before changing a group

Before adding or moving a Fileset, review the source and destination groups, their parent groups, and the devices reached by their assignments. Adding a Fileset to an already assigned group can deploy it to every device reached by that assignment. Treat a move as a potential deployment change, not just folder cleanup.

Deploy a Fileset Group

Creating a group does not deploy its contents by itself. Add the group and the intended device targets to a Deployment, review exclusions and deployment options, save, and run Update Model. Review all administrators’ pending changes before the shared Model Update. See Deployments in FileWave Central for the procedure.
