Search Criteria

What

Use the upper-right Search for Devices field () in FileWave Anywhere/WebAdmin to quickly find devices from any view.

When/Why

This search is useful for quick, one-off support lookups when you already know part of a device name, operating system name, or current username and want to jump straight to the device record.

How

1. Click the Search for Devices field in the upper-right corner.
2. Enter the value you want to search for, such as a device name, operating system name, or current username.
3. Review the matching devices and select the device name to open the device detail view.

Use the search above for a quick device lookup. For other tasks, choose the tool that matches the result you need:

• To find a value in a visible table column, such as an asset tag in the Devices view, use column search. Column filters remain in effect for that view until you change or remove them, so clear an old filter if it is hiding the records you need.
• To build a reusable result set from inventory or custom fields, use a Report. If the matching devices should become targets for deployments, use a Smart Group instead.
