Column Searching Criteria

What

In FileWave Anywhere table views, column search helps you filter the visible list to the records you need. It is useful in large views such as Devices, Licenses, Filesets, or other grids where scrolling through the full list would be slow.

When/Why

Use column search when you know one piece of information and need to find the matching item quickly. For example, if a user reports an issue and gives you the asset tag from the sticker on their laptop, you can search the Asset Tag column in the Devices view instead of manually scanning the device list.

How

The example below filters the Licenses view. A small test environment might only have a few dozen licenses, but production environments can have thousands. Filters are sticky for the current view, so FileWave Anywhere keeps that filter until you change or remove the search criteria.
