FileWave Central Reports Toolbar

In FileWave Central 16.3.0 and later, the feature previously called Queries is named Reports. The current toolbar in FileWave Central 16.4 is shown below.

The Reports area provides these actions:

  • Update Model applies pending model changes.
  • New Report creates a blank Inventory Report.
  • New Group creates a group for organizing related reports.
  • Edit Report opens the selected report definition.
  • Refresh reruns the selected report against current inventory data.
  • Duplicate copies the selected report so you can change the copy without altering the original.
  • Create Smart Group creates a Smart Group from the selected report's criteria. See Create a Smart Group from an Inventory Query (Report).
  • Import Reports opens the import workflow for report definitions and report content packs.
  • Delete removes the selected report or report group.

The controls on the right are application-wide rather than report-specific:

  • Notifications opens Central's notifications panel.
  • AI Chatbot opens the optional Central AI assistant when it has been enabled under Preferences > General.

In FileWave 16.3.0 and later, install the maintained examples from Reports > Import Reports > Example Reports Content Pack. The old Refresh Samples action is no longer available. See Example Reports Starter Pack for the import workflow.

FileWave 16.2.5 and earlier

In FileWave 16.2.5 and earlier, the toolbar uses Query, Edit Query, and Refresh Samples. The screenshot below is retained for administrators working with that older interface.
